Not your normal
VWSOA member van... Bought
as a complete rust heap in April of 2007, I worked on her every weekend for a
year, just to get her through the MOT. Having
passed the MOT & with a temporary respray of 120 + cans of paint, I started
on the inside; The only 'must have' instructions from the wife were; - A
toilet
- A
cooker
- A
fridge
- A
sink
- A
bed
I
started out with all sorts of big ideas, but had to scale things down a tad as
I soon come to realise that I could be working on this for 20 years and never
finish... So
after another 3 months of working on the inside we started to use her with vengeance
early 2009. I'm
happy with the LT so far and want to get to work finishing off the inside - the
problem now is, finding the time, as we are always away! The
Pictures The
first few pictures show the state of the inside of the van when I bought her and
the work that followed to get rid of all the rust from the floor area. Then
a sill repair. I don't want to be constantly repairing filler, so I made sure
that all body work rust has been completely cut out and replaced it all with solid
metal. The
next load of pics show a nasty dent repaired on the side of the van. Then Our
first breakfast Lolls
first (of many) glass (or plastic) of wine Me
washing up in the van for the first and LAST time. Set
up outside Bodium Castle (our first trip away in the van) and
last but not least - the toilet... |
